Herbal Lore
Focusing on 5-7 local herbs, students will learn explore the lifecycle of plants, harvested from the surrounding area. We will first identify the "weeds" during daily hikes, pick them- with respect- and later dry them, by pressing the herbs into traditional herbal books. The children will also draw the plants and their cycles, learning about the medicinal uses of each herb and it's other properties (dyes, teas, traditional lore and magical uses, etc.). Each student will have their own home-made herbal booklet to take home from the camp.
