International.
ArtDialog's Director, Barbara Benish was invited by the United Nations Environmental Program as an Advisor to a new international campaign to raise awareness on Hazardous Chemicals and Wastes, under the auspices of the Basel, Stockholm, and Rotterdam Conventions. Between 2000 and 2010, we produced exhibitions, outreach programs for schools and public interventions to this end, at various U.N. global conventions as well as community spaces in various countries for the U.N. Safe Planet Campaign. Some of these projects have grown into long term programs, like the Plastic Pollution student groups at Universidad Technològico de Cancún in Mexico, or the Riparian Corridor Restoration project in California. We are proud to be working via the arts to raise awareness on the pressing environmental crisis of our time, and bringing the issues to a large international public, as well as hands-on local gardening and ecological restoration projects to restore and protect habitat, soil, oceans, and community.
